Appletree Cottage is a lovely, semi-detached, thatched cottage in the picturesque hamlet of Higher Brimley within the Dartmoor National Park. Built on a hillside there are wonderful far-reaching views towards Bovey Tracey and Haytor. Inside, the cottage is brimming with character and charm with thick cob walls, original leaded windows, beamed ceilings, stone fireplaces and traditional cottage furnishings. The attractive living room has a woodburner, CD player and views from the window seats. The sitting room also has a woodburner and a selection of books to enjoy. (There are a few steps between the ground floor rooms). The cottage has a delightful, rose filled, terraced garden with a thatched summerhouse, a swing seat and garden benches. Parking for one car is at the end of a narrow drive leading to the back of the cottage, or it is possible to park on the country lane at the front of the cottage. Stone steps lead from both entrances, through the garden to the cottage. The picturesque scenery of Dartmoor covers 365 square miles of natural beauty and offers numerous walking and cycling routes. Haytor is only a 1 ¼ mile walk along the country lane which passes the cottage. Within a short drive are the Becky Falls Woodland Park, Cardew Design Tea Pottery, the House of Marbles with glass blowing and the market town of Bovey Tracey with a good selection of shops, pubs and an outdoor heated swimming pool.

The spectacular South Devon coastline is about ten miles drive with the towns of Dartmouth, Totnes, Teignmouth and Torbay all within easy reach. National Trust properties and gardens worth visiting include Castle Drogo, A La Ronde, Coleton Fishacre and the glorious woodland garden at Greenway, the former estate of Agatha Christie.

The cottage is not suitable for very young children due to the terraced garden and changes in level.

Accommodation: Ground Floor: Lounge. Sitting Room. Kitchen/Diner. Bathroom with bath, shower and washbasin. Separate WC with washbasin. Wood store with separate WC and washbasin. First Floor: Bedroom 1 with king-size bed. Bedroom 2 with double bed (there is limited access on side of the bed).

Facilities: Electric Cooker, Microwave, Refrigerator, Freezer, Dishwasher, Automatic Washing Machine, Tumble Dryer, Barbecue, Parking, Video Recorder, Colour Television, DVD Player, Partial Fixed Heating. Pets not allowed.
