Situated just a few miles from Penzance and Mousehole, Newlyn is the epitome of a traditional Cornish fishing village. With narrow, cobbled streets and fishermans cottages, Anchor Cottage is tucked away from the bustling harbour, which is home to a large fleet of fishing boats. Anchor Cottage is a refurbished, ground floor property offering comfortable accommodation with attractive furnishings, cushioned window seats, novelty lighting and a selection of board games, books, DVDs and toys. Patio doors lead to a secluded, private garden with seating and a barbecue.

Once famous for its Pilchard Works, Newlyn is still renowned for its delicious, freshly caught fish. Three granite, stone pillars used to hang and dry pilchards in days gone by feature in the garden at Anchor Cottage, and polished granite features prominently in the property.

	Being in the heart of the village, Anchor Cottage has a bakery, grocery, café and an award-winning fish and chip shop all within walking distance. Traditional pubs nearby such as The Swordfish and The Dolphin feature local ales, with outside seating and live music once a week during the summer months. Visit the harbour, Newlyn Art Gallery and The Pilchard Museum and, for days out, The Tate Gallery, Lands End, Flambards, The National Seal Sanctuary and Future World at Goonhilly are all worth a visit. Walkers can easily join the South West Coast Path and the stunning beaches at Praa Sands or Whitesand Bay are a short drive away.
