The Eden Project Biomes Near St Austell CornwallThe Eden Project

The massive biomes of The Eden Project, which house plants from the four corners of the world, have become a 'must-see' attraction for visitors to the West Country.

The hot-humid biome features rainforest trees and tropical plants and crops, from papyrus to coffee and has a huge waterfall, which tumbles down from the high rock face. The temperate biome has Mediterranean and cold desert plants and includes a vineyard with a bronze sculpture of the god Bacchus.

The Eden Project was the brainchild of Tim Smit, who was responsible for the re-discovery of The Lost Gardens of Heligan, just a few miles away. Since opening in 2001, Eden has achieved worldwide renown and have received over 2 million visitors.

A trip to The Eden Project is an easy drive for a day out from all of our Cornwall and South Devon properties.
