Dartmoor
Dartmoor, which was awarded
National Park status in 1951, covers an area of 368 square miles of
moorland, rivers and exposed granite tors and includes some of the most
remote and spectacular scenery in the region. Home to the famous
Dartmoor ponies and an abundance of other wildlife, Dartmoor also forms
the catchment for many of Devon's rivers.
Walking, cycling, rock climbing
and horse riding can all be enjoyed within Dartmoor, and the properties
listed below are all situated within, or very close to, the national
park boundary.
“I have never before, in my long and eclectic career
been gifted with such an abundance of natural beauty as experienced
filming War Horse on Dartmoor”.
Steven Spielberg
